Water Cooler

Even the simple, ubiquitous water cooler is a place you can save energy. Simply unplug it! It will still deliver water unplugged since the water delivery is a function of water pressure in the pipes for some models, and gravity in others. The plug is just to chill the water.

In point of fact, cold water is far less healthy to consume than room temperature water. You digestion functions partly by concentrating heat and energy. Cold water actually impedes digestion. So by turning off the water cooler you will save carbon, save money, and improve your health and well-being.

That water cooler is one of the 24/7 power wasters we have built into our societies for 'convenience'. Turn 'em off. Or at least put them on timers so that they only cool the water during hours of probably use.

In cruising around the Internet to see who else was onto this way of saving energy I also came up with another goodie. In fact, I'll make another page for it here. It's called Turn It All Off.
