We try teach our children to share, but this is perhaps one of society’s greatest blind-spots.  As adults, the concept of sharing is a foreign one.  At what age should one no longer share? Part of our problem is that we live in a culture where virtually all property is private, and everyone seems to want one of everything.  This is a very difficult one to tackle since it is so endemic in society.  But try anyhow.  The human bonds will be strengthened as we re-learn how to share with one another… and the carbon bonds will be spared in the process, leaving the carbon in its unburned form, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
