If Oprah says it's so, then you know it's so. Kidding aside, Oprah is gauge of what the American public is thinking. She is thoughtful and, if not 'leading edge' in her thinking, she is definitely progressive. She is willing and able, and sustains her ratings perhaps, on 'telling it like it is'.

In that regard, we are pleased to have found the following video clip of a section of Oprah's show with Al Gore. Take a few moments to watch and listen. It is pretty good stuff for 'mainstream'. That is, while we feel the nitty-gritty truth about the speed of climate change, and the seriousness of our problem is a lot more serious than is conveyed in this clip, it is somewhat encouraging to see that it is on people's minds to this extent.

Hopefully, this will translate into the kind of political pressure which will create the kind of change which is needed to 'put the toothpaste back in the tube' (the CO2 in this case).
