The ClimateCorps is becoming the virtual encyclopedia of background information and action ideas to help you reduce your ‘carbon footprint’ and in so doing, to reduce our cumulative contributions to global climate change. Since an encyclopedia needs an index to sort and store all its information, the alphabet on the menu line is your key to unlocking this treasure chest of information.
We hope to provide some background about the phenomenon of global climate change, its causes and effects. But more we aim at providing solutions, especially the less conventional ones. There are countless websites and agencies pushing the merits of CFL bulbs (compact fluorescent lights). We don’t need to be just one more.
Instead we hope to teach you deeper solutions… how to recognize your habits and change them. Habits, but their nature, are almost invisible to us. The skill to even see them is one that must be developed. Indeed, we pay lots of money to professionals to help us see our habits (psychologists) when they are debilitating or bothersome to us. But we need to learn to see them ourselves in this case, because they have become so bothersome and irritating to our existence on planet earth.
But before you proceed, let us mention the most important lesson the ClimateCorps can offer. Please read our page on the paradigm shift, another take on habits, which we must all learn to make in order to avert the worst that global climate change may otherwise hold in store for us.
