One of our members suggested this page for the ClimateCorps recently. The concept of an 'ecological footprint' was virtually unknown just a few years ago. How can we learn to tread more lightly on the planet if we do not take stock of our actual 'footprint', the size of our personal impact. So here is a link to an interesting website which will take you through the paces of determining your own ecological footprint.
While there are many carbon calculators on the Internet, and several that we have featured on our Carbon Footprint page, this is the first one we've come across which takes a more comprehensive view of this dimension of the problem. We especially appreciate their approach since the climate crisis, which is dimensioned by one's carbon footprint, is only part of the problem... the 'tip of the iceberg', so to speak. Since the real problem is our unsustainable consumerism, our 'ecological footprint' is a more appropriate measure.
So without further ado, here is a link to the Ecological Footprint Quiz (www.myfootprint.org).
