Bottled Water
The relatively recent move to bottled water is really a vast problem in terms of global warming. The best alternative is demanding that municipalities provide free or inexpensive, clean, pure drinking water. If that is not happening in your locality, then filter what comes from the tap. But to pay money for someone’s advertising, bottling and transportation of water hundreds or perhaps thousands of miles is a massive waste of energy (fossil fuels) and excess carbon dioxside emissions.
One of the dirty little secrets of the bottled water industry is that the forms of plastic most commonly used in these bottles are known to leach small amounts of ‘estrogen mimicking’ chemicals into the water, with potentially major adverse affects on health over time.
But that issue aside, find small glass bottles with secure screw caps that you can refill with tap or filtered water from home. Refuse to use bottled water. Bottled water is no longer cool. It’s a big contributor to the over-heating of the planet.
